US State Dept. Falls Prey To JudeoFascists

It is incredibly frustrating when people shout "anti-Semite!" every time you criticize Israel. It reflects a lack of intelligence on the part of the accuser, and suggests that any further discussion is not likely to be productive.

Unfortunately, the US State Department has just adopted this line of attack as official policy:
Jews worldwide are facing a new form of anti-Semitism disguised by hatred toward Israel, in addition to more traditional forms of anti-Semitism, a new US report said Thursday.

"This new anti-Semitism is common throughout the Middle East and in Muslim communities in Europe, but it is not confined to these populations," the US State Department said in a report for 2007.
Perhaps the State Dept should issue some guidelines so we all know how to criticize Israel without being anti-Semitic. Or is that simply impossible to do?

Perhaps they should also explain how they categorize anti-Zionist Jews like Antony Loewenstein? Are they going to adopt ridiculous terms like "self-hating Jew" along with another nonsense words like "Islamofascist"?

When foolish ideologues take control of government, that is dangerous. When their foolish ideas become entrenched pillars of official government policy, we should all be very concerned indeed. The shadow of Nazi Germany looms ever larger over the Bush White House.
