Enough Already With The "War" Metaphors!

The Minister for Resources and Energy, Martin Ferguson, says the challenge of securing global energy supplies is "the new Cold War". I think that is a terrible way to look at the problem. It assumes there are finite energy resources available and no option but war as a means of sharing them out.

Ironically, just a few hours after Ferguson's comments, the ACT Government announced that it is investigating a proposal to build a solar power station in Canberra.
