Looking For Someone To Blame?

Roland Arnall was the founder of a "pioneer" US subprime mortgage company called Ameriquest. Bush nominated Arnall as the US Ambassador to the Hague in 2005, but his confirmation was delayed until Ameriquest agreed to a $325 million out-of-court settlement of predatory lending investigations.

Ameriquest went bust last year. Roland Arnall, who started out selling flowers on L.A. street corners, just died with $1.5 billion in the bank.

Maybe Bush should tap into that dirty money next time he wants a rescue package for the Street.

And maybe the next US Ambassador to the Hague should start preparing the dock for a disgraced US President.
