Flegg ridiculed for not getting MC role:
Should the coalition lose the November 24 election, Mr Newman will become the most senior Liberal in government at a local, state or federal level.
Jeebus, what a thought.

UPDATE: Crikey says the Coalition launch was actually a battle for post-election party control:
Whatever you think of him, Howard is no fool. He knows that next week's election is lost, and nothing he said yesterday will change that. His eyes are on the future, which means they are also on the past: on the vindication of his record. He does not want to see the party repudiate his legacy as they did to Malcolm Fraser in the 1980s.
I hope the media pick up on all this post-Howard speculation. It's more interesting than the Seinfeld stuff.
